Nerd by nature; Librarian by choice
About Melissa Johnson
I created this portfolio as part of my final project for my master's degree in the Learning Technologies program at the University of North Texas and have added to it from my librarianship perspective at SMU Libraries. I thoroughly enjoyed my journey into instructional design and learning technologies and look forward to many more adventures in librarianship.
Currently an Instructional Design & Educational Technologies Librarian at the Business Library, part of SMU Libraries at Southern Methodist University, I hold a MS in Library Science and a MS in Learning Technologies. I love being a librarian/information professional and developing/creating instructional content. My professional interests are instructional design, emerging technologies, instruction, information literacy, and mobile technologies.
You've probably noticed each page features my tag line, "Nerd by nature; Librarian by choice." I use it on websites that feature me or my work as well as on my social media sites. I find it's a quick saying that helps to show my personality.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my website and digital portfolio. I enjoyed making it, even with all the frustrations that occurred with learning and acquiring new skills, and hope that my creative effort shows through when you browse it. I look forward to hearing your thoughts and feedback about my work.
